Anhui Medical College (including Anhui Academy of Medical Sciences) is a public junior college (institution) subject to direct administration by the Anhui Provincial Health Commission. With the approval of the Anhui Provincial People's Government and the record of the Ministry of Education, Anhui Medical College (hereinafter referred to as "AMC") has been planned to be upgraded to a medical undergraduate institution and included in the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" for the establishment of higher education institutions in Anhui Province. AMC was founded in 1955 and is located in Hefei City. Founded in 1955, AMC now owns 3 campuses, namely Wuhu Road Campus, Furong Road Campus, Xinqiao Campus. It has some 240 undergraduates (jointly trained) and over 12,000 junior college students.

AMC is a national high-quality vocational higher education institution, a construction unit of the national "Double High Plan," one of the first batch of comprehensive reform pilot units for the "Three-Full Education" project by the Ministry of Education, one of the top 50 universities with typical experience in graduate employment in China, a pilot institution for the first batch of Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program by the Ministry of Education, a pilot school for the national smart education platform, a construction unit for national health school, a demonstration higher vocational college in Anhui Province, one of the first batch of skill-oriented high-level college construction units in Anhui Province, an exemplary unit for employment work in Anhui Province, the second batch of school-enterprise cooperation demonstration schools and the third batch of school-enterprise cooperation demonstration bases in Anhui Province, and a provincial civilized campus. It has been awarded the title of an advanced unit in national spiritual civilization construction and an advanced collective in the national health system. AMC has achieved the "excellent" rating in the evaluation of talent training work in vocational colleges in Anhui Province and the evaluation of talent training work and personalized assessment of exemplary higher vocational colleges in Anhui Province.

Anhui Medical College (including Anhui Academy of Medical Sciences) consists of 12 schools including the School of Clinical Medicine (General Medicine School), School of Stomatology, School of Medical Technology, School of Nursing, School of Public Health and Health Management, School of Pharmacy, School of Public Basics, School of Basic Medicine, School of Marxism, First Clinical School, School of International Education, Continuing Education School, as well as multiple educational, training, and research institutions such as Anhui Provincial General Medicine Training Center, Anhui Provincial Health Workers Training Center, and Anhui Provincial Genetic Medicine Center. There are 9 research institutes focusing on General Medicine Education, Dental Technology and Materials, Infection and Immunity, Nursing Health Promotion, Smart Healthcare and Elderly Care, Biotechnology Drugs, Tumor Molecular Biology, Ideological and Political Education, and Medical Cultural Heritage. There are 18 majors in 5 categories: Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Technology, and Management. It has 1 high-level specialty group with Chinese characteristics, 4 national key specialties, and 13 provincial characteristic (key) specialties. It has a national-level vocational education demonstration virtual simulation training base, 2 national-level school-enterprise cooperative production training bases, 2 central finance-supported construction training bases, 7 provincial-level demonstration training centers, and 1 provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship school. There are 17 experimental training centers including Clinical Skills Training Center, Nursing Training Center, Inspection and Experiment Center, Comprehensive Pharmaceutical Experimental Training Center, Comprehensive Training Center for Elderly Care Services, Basic Public Experimental Training Center, Morphology Experimental Center, and Functional Experimental Center. It has one directly affiliated hospital (Anhui Second People's Hospital), one directly affiliated Stomatology Hospital, 10 non-directly affiliated hospitals, 12 teaching hospitals, and over 190 practical teaching bases.

Anhui Academy of Medical Sciences is composed of 5 specialized medical research institutes: Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Institute of Microbiology, Institute of Clinical Medicine, and Institute of Preventive Medicine. It has established 3 scientific service platforms: Anhui Provincial Experimental Animal Quality Supervision and Testing Center, Medical and Health Inspection and Testing Center, and Anhui Provincial Health Technology Assessment Center. The academy has a Level 3 laboratory in "Traditional Chinese Medicine Chemistry" designated by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a "Microbiology and Disinfection Laboratory" that is a key specialized laboratory in medical and health care in Anhui Province in 2021, a key laboratory jointly established by Anhui Province in 2023, and animal experimental laboratories for barrier and general environments. It possesses qualifications as a national registration inspection institution for health food and a food inspection and testing institution in Anhui Province. The Office of Science, Education, and Management of Anhui Provincial Health Commission and the Secretariat of the Anhui Provincial Medical Ethics Expert Committee are attached to the Anhui Academy of Medical Sciences. It collaborates with Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the School of Public Health, Anhui Medical University, for the joint cultivation of master's students and the establishment of joint training and practice bases for graduate students. The main tasks of the academy are to undertake basic and applied medical research throughout the province, actively promote the industrialization of scientific research results, and provide effective scientific and technological services to the public.

AMC has a strong faculty team. There are currently more than 600 full-time teachers, with 70.21% of them holding a master's degree or above. Among the full-time teachers, there are 280 associate professors and above in professional and technical positions, including 52 senior professional and technical positions (including 27 professors). Over 40% of the teachers are "dual-qualified" teachers. The school has one national "Teaching Master" under the "Ten Thousand Talents Program," one nominee for the National Outstanding Counselor of the Year, 21 provincial-level teaching masters, 29 provincial-level teaching teams, 13 provincial-level leading figures in majors, and 27 provincial-level rising stars in education. There is also one national-level vocational education teaching innovation team and two teams from the 14th batch of provincial "115" industrial innovation teams.

AMC has achieved fruitful results in education and teaching. It has won two national teaching achievement awards and 49 provincial-level teaching achievement awards (including one special prize and 14 first prizes). It has developed six national-level fine courses, one national-level fine shared course, and one national-level fine online open course, as well as 101 provincial-level fine courses. The school has also received one first prize and two second prizes in the first National Textbook Construction Awards. Teachers have won one first prize and one second prize in the National Vocational College Teachers' Teaching Ability Competition, as well as 12 first prizes, 15 second prizes, and 13 third prizes in the Anhui Provincial Teaching Ability Competition. Students have achieved 3 first prizes, 6 second prizes, and 6 third prizes in the National Vocational College Skills Competition. In the National and Anhui Provincial Competition for College Students' Career Planning and Entrepreneurship Design, students have won a total of 74 individual and collective awards, including one national-level individual award and one outstanding organization award. They have also received 56 provincial-level individual awards and 16 outstanding organization awards. AMC has been awarded 2 second prizes in the National Art Exhibition, one bronze medal in the "Challenge Cup" National Competition, 3 gold medals (first prizes) in the "Challenge Cup" Provincial Competition, 3 bronze medals in the "Internet+" National Competition, and 8 gold medals in the provincial competition. Additionally, one student has been nominated as a national college student of the year.

AMC has excellent capabilities in scientific and technological services. In recent years, it has participated in and received recognition for its contributions, including one second prize and one third prize in Anhui Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress Awards, 5 grants from the Provincial Natural Science Foundation, 2 "115" Industrial Innovation Teams at the provincial level, 2 talents under the "Special Support Program," 11 provincial-level major projects, and 110 provincial-level key projects. Teachers have obtained 5 international invention patents, 23 national invention patents, and 167 utility model patents. Additionally, students have been granted 1,019 utility model patents. These achievements demonstrate AMC's commitment to scientific research and technological innovation.

The journal "Anhui Medical Journal," hosted by AMC, has been recognized for its excellence on multiple occasions. It has been evaluated as an "Excellent Journal" by the Chinese Association of University Journals and an "Excellent Journal in Anhui Province" by the Provincial Journal Association. It has consistently received the evaluation of "A" as a core journal in the category of higher vocational and technical college academic journals in the "RCCSE Chinese Academic Journal Ranking List" (ranking among the top 7). These accolades demonstrate the high quality and reputation of the journal in the academic community.

AMC is actively engaged in international exchange and cooperation. It has obtained the qualification to enroll and cultivate international students and has been admitting international students since 2021. As a cooperative institution for the Asian Nursing Scholarship Program in Singapore, designated by the Ministry of Education, the school has sent nearly 220 students to study, work, and live in Singapore. It has also established cooperative relationships with a number of higher education institutions and educational organizations in the United States, Australia, South Korea, Germany, and other countries, conducting international education cooperation and facilitating faculty and student exchange visits. Additionally, it has established an exchange and cooperation program with Bengbu Medical College for joint cultivation of bachelor education.

AMC has achieved excellent results in talent cultivation. The pass rates for the first-time examinations of assistant physicians and nursing qualifications consistently rank among the top in the province. The school has a high enrollment rate and strong employment prospects. The admission cutoff scores for both the arts and science streams in the National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) consistently rank first or second among higher vocational and technical colleges in the province. The employment rate of graduates has remained stable at over 97%, and the satisfaction rate with their employment is above 95%. These indicators demonstrate the high quality of talent cultivation and the favorable employment prospects for graduates from AMC (updated in June 2023).
